Academic Excellence
The Rev. Dr. Marcus Hill is the Director of the Diversity Center and Spiritual Life and College Chaplain at Curry College. In this role, he provides leadership for religious, spiritual, and interfaith engagement, supports student well-being and belonging, and offers confidential pastoral care to members of the campus community.
In addition to his work at Curry, Dr. Hill serves as Interim Pastor of First Congregational Church of Rutland (UCC) and as Youth Leader at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord, Massachusetts. His ministry bridges higher education, congregational leadership, youth development, and community engagement.
Prior to joining Curry College, Dr. Hill served as Assistant Chaplain for Protestant Students and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities at the College of the Holy Cross and as Christian Chaplain at Amherst College. His previous professional experience also includes serving as Dean of Spiritual Life at Los Altos Christian Schools, Resident Director and Student Conduct Officer at Tufts University, Area Coordinator at Simmons University, and Interfaith Chaplain at California State University, Long Beach.
As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. Hill is passionate about mentoring students, fostering inclusive communities, and supporting the holistic development of young adults. His work centers on helping individuals explore meaning, purpose, identity, and belonging while creating environments where all students can thrive.
Dr. Hill earned a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Azusa Pacific Seminary, and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Boston University. He is an ordained Missionary Baptist minister.
