Emily (Machado) Vinnicombe joined the Curry College Marketing & Communications Team as the Social Media Specialist in March of 2020. In September of 2022, she was appointed as Director of Digital Communications.
Previously, Emily spent six years working in Athletic Communications, most recently at Wentworth Institute of Technology. At Wentworth, Emily managed all Athletics social media accounts, focusing on new brand initiatives and user engagement with the Leopards. She was the primary contact for nine of the Leopards’ 17 sports, which consisted of compiling and maintaining statistics and records, writing press releases, and providing updates to the Wentworth Athletics Website.
Prior to Wentworth, Emily spent three years as the Director of Sports Information and Event Management at her alma mater, Lasell University, where she managed the comprehensive communication plan for Lasell’s 15 sports. As an undergraduate at Lasell, Emily was a four-year starter on the women’s soccer team, winning three Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championships with three NCAA Tournament Appearances.
She was twice (2016, 2017) named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Sports Information Director of the Year and in 2017 was a recipient of a grant to attend the College Sports Information Directors of America Workshop in Orlando, Fla. Emily also serves on the Executive Board of the Eastern College Athletic Conference-Sports Information Directors' Association as Social Media Chair.
