Dr. Laura Vanderberg brings 15 years of experience designing curriculum and implementing educational program evaluations for various types of learners in settings both inside and outside the classroom. She has received awards for her work in supporting educational excellence, including an award from the Ukrainian National Ministry of Education for the introduction of innovative TEFL methodologies as well as the Change Agent Award and Outstanding Contribution to Undergraduate Education Award at Tufts University. Most recently, as Assistant Dean of Assessment and Planning in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston, she designed College-wide assessment practices and collaborated to support accreditation within the College and University. As a Principal Investigator, she has overseen grants from the United States Agency for International Development and the United States Department of Education to train educators and study learning and cognition. In the field, she has been referred to as "a brilliant scientist specializing in assessment", and to her colleagues, she is known as an educator committed to student growth and development. Her professional research uses an interdisciplinary lens to understand students with learning differences and their educational trajectories.
