Exploratory Health Professions (EHP) Program

Health Care is a growing industry and the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the largest growth in this industry by 2022 will be in health care support positions (U.S. News & World Report, January 2015).

What is the Exploratory Health Professions (EHP) Program?

The Exploratory Health Professions Program at Curry College is designed to help students interested in health services fields identify and pursue a major that will lead to internships and employment in the health care industry following graduation. Students selected for this program will take a common set of courses their first year which include:

  • Anatomy & Physiology I
  • Anatomy & Physiology II
  • Chemical Concepts

Additionally, students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and events throughout the year that assist with identifying strengths and interests and expose them to options in health related professions. At the end of the first year, EHP students will have the opportunity to declare their major and plan their pathway to graduation. Some common pathways include:

All students admitted to the EHP program are included in this program and will receive invitations to participate in the events throughout the year.

JOIN THE EHP LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY!

Students in the EHP program can elect to participate in the optional Exploratory Health Professions Living Learning Community. Students who choose this option will be housed within one of our Living Learning Community Residence Halls where they will have access to group study spaces and programming by the residence life staff that is specific to health professions and fields.

Additionally students in the EHP Living Learning Community will have a peer mentor that can help guide them through their first year at the College.

The Living Learning Community is limited to 20 students.

STUDY ABROAD

EHP students have the unique opportunity to participate in our student exchange program with St. Francis University in Ambialet, France. During the program students stay in Saint Francis University's renovated facility in Ambialet, located in southwestern France, and enjoy extended stays in Paris and Barcelona. Students benefit from numerous visits to important sites in the region and have opportunities to learn about health care systems worldwide. Visits to museums, monuments and natural sites are enhanced by events such as fairs, pastry fests and concerts.
