Students talk with an employer partner at Career Fair

Motivated, Prepared, and Career-driven Students

Curry students are known for a strong work ethic and a practical mindset shaped by balancing academics with real responsibilities. Many hold part-time or full-time jobs while completing their degrees, and roughly one-third also compete in varsity athletics — experiences that build reliability, time management, teamwork, and follow-through in professional settings.

They tend to be humble and focused on doing the work well rather than promoting themselves. Through internships, applied projects, and hands-on coursework, they build meaningful experience, and Career & Experiential Learning helps them articulate that experience with clarity and confidence.

Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, with many being the first in their families to attend college. Employers frequently note the perspective, adaptability, and appreciation for opportunity they bring to the workplace.

For employers looking to go beyond individual hires and build a sustained pipeline of Curry talent, the Curry Connectors program offers a structured partnership — including more direct engagement with students, collaborative programming, and a role in shaping career development programming.

Post full-time, internship, and part-time roles through Handshake, our recruiting platform.

The most direct way to connect with Curry students and alumni is through Handshake, our online recruiting platform. Employers can post full-time roles, internships, and part-time opportunities. Once approved, positions are visible to students and alumni and may be promoted through CXL channels, including targeted emails, newsletters, and faculty outreach.

To get started:

Domestic Positions
Household-based roles — childcare, home care, senior care, and pet sitting.

Roles such as childcare, home care, senior care, and pet sitting are coordinated separately through Curry's Local Opportunity Database rather than Handshake. These opportunities are published for 30 days and promoted through the weekly CXL newsletter. Individual flyers and email promotions are not distributed for household-based positions.

Partner with us year-round through academic credit or summer internships.

Internships let Curry students apply academic learning in professional settings while gaining career experience. Employers can host interns year-round through two pathways.

Academic Internships (For Credit)

Students complete these during the academic year or summer, coordinated with a faculty internship coordinator who helps establish learning goals. Interns typically work 10–12 hours per week, completing 110–120 hours over the course of the internship. Internships may be paid or unpaid; unpaid internships must meet U.S. Department of Labor standards (see the Wage and Hour Division guidelines).

For site qualifications and requirements, see our Internship Program page.

CXL Summer Internship Program

A dedicated summer pathway supported directly by the CXL office. Schedules and hours vary based on organizational needs, and CXL staff can assist employers with questions or guidance throughout the experience.

Micro-Internships

Through our partnership with Parker Dewey, employers can engage Curry students on micro-internships — short-term, paid, professional projects typically completed remotely in 10 to 40 hours. Micro-internships are a low-commitment way to get real work done while giving students the chance to demonstrate their skills in a professional setting. Visit the Curry Parker Dewey portal to post a project.

Expectations for Host Employers

Strong internships provide meaningful learning and professional development. Employers are encouraged to:

  • Provide a defined project or set of responsibilities
  • Assign a supervisor to offer guidance and feedback
  • Create opportunities to build professional skills
  • Include interns in relevant meetings, team activities, or mentoring
  • Conduct an end-of-internship evaluation, independently or through Curry

Classroom engagements, site visits, and professional development partnerships.

Beyond posting roles, employers can engage Curry students directly through classroom and campus partnerships.

In the Classroom

We partner with faculty to host guest speakers, case studies, industry panels, and problem-based discussions tied to course content. These are targeted, curriculum-aligned sessions — not generic presentation slots — giving your team direct access to discipline-specific audiences.

Site Visits

Invite students into your environment to see operations firsthand, ask informed questions, and understand workplace culture beyond a job description. For employers, it's an opportunity to showcase your team and build early familiarity with potential future hires.

Mock Interviews & Professional Development

Employers regularly partner with us on mock interviews, résumé reviews, and skill-building workshops. These lower-pressure, high-impact settings give employers early visibility into emerging talent — and many of our strongest hiring relationships begin here.

Career Readiness Collaborations

Employers partner with us on career preparation sessions offered through the Curry Commitment Program. These collaborations give your team early visibility into emerging talent while helping students build the skills they'll bring to your recruiting process.

Participate in One of Our Many Career Events

Curry College hosts a variety of career events throughout the academic year designed to connect employers with students exploring internships, experiential learning, and full-time opportunities across industries and career interests. Our events may include industry-focused career fairs, networking opportunities, employer panels, classroom engagement, information sessions, and other recruiting initiatives that support meaningful employer-student connections.

Past events have featured opportunities focused on areas such as business, technology, healthcare, education, nonprofit organizations, public service, communications, and social impact careers.

Students participating in these events are supported through career readiness programming that includes résumé development, interview preparation, networking strategies, and professional branding through the Curry Commitment Program.

Finding Career Events

All upcoming career events and employer engagement opportunities are posted on Handshake for Employers. Create or log in to your employer account to browse Curry College events, register for opportunities, and view event details including format, timing, and participation information.

NACE-aligned standards for postings, staffing firms, and third-party recruiters.

Curry follows NACE Principles for Ethical Professional Practice. Certain position types — including commission-only, MLM, and fee-based roles — are not approved. Staffing firms that hire candidates directly are welcomed as employers; third-party recruiters placing candidates into other organizations are subject to disclosure and participation conditions.

Recruiting Guidelines

Career & Experiential Learning (CXL) follows the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Ethical Professional Practice, which promotes transparency, fairness, and student safety. Employers recruiting at Curry are expected to follow these standards.

To learn more, review the NACE Principles for Ethical Professional Practice.

In alignment with NACE standards, CXL does not approve postings for roles that may place students in misleading or high-risk situations, including those that:

  • Offer commission-only compensation
  • Involve door-to-door solicitation
  • Require students to pay fees for training, materials, or placement
  • Operate under multi-level marketing (MLM) or pyramid-style structures
  • Lack a verifiable organization or defined work location (e.g., advertising while driving, informal product testing without a structured employer)

All postings must include clear responsibilities, transparent compensation, and a legitimate employer contact.

Third-Party Recruiters and Staffing Agencies

Career & Experiential Learning follows NACE's distinction between direct employers, staffing firms, and third-party recruiters.

Staffing and Consulting Firms. Firms that hire candidates directly onto their own payroll — including those that place consultants on client engagements as employees of the staffing organization — are treated as direct employers. These postings are welcome in Handshake and at recruiting events, provided the nature of the work is clearly described.

Third-Party Recruiters. Per NACE, third-party recruiters are agencies or individuals recruiting candidates for employment opportunities other than their own. Postings from third-party recruiters may be approved when:

  • The end employer and nature of the role are clearly identified, or
  • The posting is for an internal position within the recruiting firm itself

Third-party recruiters may not charge fees to candidates, and participation in career fairs and on-campus events is limited. Candidate information shared through Curry recruiting channels may not be re-disclosed to outside organizations.

Posting & Participation Disclaimer

CXL reserves the right to decline or remove job postings, event registrations, or recruiting activities that do not align with these guidelines. Participation in Curry recruiting events and programs may also be suspended if these expectations are not upheld.
