While we work together to navigate this rapidly changing environment, all of our Academic Support Service offices remain staffed during normal business hours. While we ask that you not visit these offices in person at this time, you may contact them via email or phone and for some can set up a virtual appointment. Appointments with many of the offices can be made using the appointment scheduling links on the myCurry portal under 'Academic Support'. Below is additional information on each area:
Two Ways to Access Tutoring:
Tutor Matching Service (TMS): Students in need of a peer tutor can utilize the Tutor Matching Service (TMS) platform that lists all of the Curry College approved peer tutors and the areas in which they tutor. Students can use TMS to book an appointment with a peer tutor of their choice and will receive a link to join the virtual session. There is no cost to students for Curry College peer tutors and students can access the system through the myCurry portal on the 'Academic Support' tab under 'Academic Tutoring.'
TutorMe: In areas where a peer tutor is not available, or a student prefers a professional tutor, students have access to TutorMe, a 24/7 on demand virtual live tutoring service. The link to TutorMe is embedded in each student’s Canvas Learning Management System left navigation pane. Students are able to utilize 180 minutes of tutoring a week through this service.
Curry College ITS is available to support students with password resets and other questions related to accessing Curry College technology. Beginning on Monday, March 23, 2020, the ITS staff are available Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (all hours are Eastern Standard Time). Hours may be adjusted due to call volume. Any changes to these hours will be communicated to your Curry student email address. To access technical support, you may either email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 617-333-2911. Please be patient as we anticipate an increased volume of calls and emails over the next several days. Information about specific technical resources is below:
Canvas: Canvas is the learning management system of Curry College. You can access Canvas through the link located on the homepage of the myCurry Portal.
Microsoft Office: Curry College students are able to download the Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Microsoft Teams) on their personal devices with the use of their Curry College student email address.
Communication Tools: Individual faculty members may choose to communicate with students through a variety of different means. Examples of some of the communication tools include Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom. Apps for each of these tools are available for download and accessible from computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
