Create Meaning. Make an Impact. Shape the Future.

The Humanities explore how people tell stories, interpret meaning, and document human experience. The Curry College Applied Humanities major and minor takes these traditions — from literature and history to philosophy, art history, musicology, religious studies, writing, and more — and connects them directly to the world beyond the classroom.

Through community engaged learning and public facing projects, students develop marketable skills, gain hands on experience, and build connections that prepare them for meaningful careers. Designed with flexibility in mind, the program allows students to focus solely on Applied Humanities or combine it with a second major to create a uniquely powerful interdisciplinary pathway.

Applied Humanities at Curry stands apart as an integrated, cross disciplinary major that prioritizes real world application. By bringing together existing Humanities strengths and pairing them with community engagement, the program offers something distinct in the New England region — a Humanities degree intentionally connected to practice, impact, and career readiness.
