Students minoring in Economics at Curry College will have the opportunity to be immersed in real-world, relevant courses focused on market analysis, financial decision-making, business strategy and economic policy, enhancing their professional toolbox for careers in corporate, governmental, and non-profit sectors.

ECON 1010: Principles of Macroeconomics

ECON 1011: Principles of Microeconomics

Required (2 courses):

ECON 2XXX: Microeconomics for Business & Policy

BUS 2150: Quantitative Methods and Analytics for Business

Electives (choose 2 of the following electives):

ECON 2XXX: Regional and Global Economics

ECON/FIN 2XXX: Forecasting and Predictive Analytics

FIN 3010: Investments

FIN 2010: Financial Institutions and Markets

BUS 2170: Environmental Economics

MIS 2050: Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence

MRKT 2160: Consumer Behavior

Upon completion of the Economics Minor, students will be able to:

  1. Apply fundamental microeconomic and macroeconomic theories
  2. Analyze data using statistical tools and economic models.
  3. Evaluate arguments, identify assumptions, and form reasoned conclusions about business strategy, economic policies and events.
  4. Explain economic concepts clearly and persuasively in written and oral form.
  5. Recognize the role of economics in business, politics, and society.
