Curry Nursing, Celebrating 50 Years. 1977-2027

For 50 years, Curry College Nursing has been transforming lives through excellence in nursing education, compassionate care, and an unwavering commitment to serving our communities. Since our founding, thousands of graduates have gone on to lead, innovate, advocate, and make a lasting impact across healthcare settings throughout Massachusetts and beyond.

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we honor the students, alumni, faculty, staff, clinical partners, donors, and community supporters whose dedication has shaped our legacy. Their stories reflect the strength of our mission and the countless lives touched through nursing practice, education, research, and leadership.

1977: The Beginning

Curry College absorbs Boston Children’s Hospital School of Nursing. Over the ensuing decades, the College would graduate thousands of nurses from the program.

1990: Joining Theta-at-Large

Curry College's Nursing Honor Society becomes a member of Theta-Chapter-at-Large, Sigma Theta Tau International's seventh oldest chapter in the United States and oldest chapter in New England.

2000: Accreditation

Our undergraduate BS in Nursing program becomes the first nursing program in Massachusetts to be granted accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

2004: Hello ACCEL

The Division of Nursing launches the Accelerated Entry (ACCEL) program. The ACCEL program was the first accelerated second Baccalaureate degree program in the Boston area and the second ever in Massachusetts.

2008: Master's Program

The Division of Nursing launches the first Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Curry College with a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) focus. The MSN program now offers two track options: Nursing Education and Administration, along with an Accelerated Entry (AE-MSN).

2016: New School

The Division of Nursing evolves to become the Curry College School of Nursing (and eventually the School of Nursing and Health Sciences). The elevation in status associated with this exciting change created an environment that enhanced our growth as we continued to meet the professions' workforce needs.

2022: International Recognition

The Curry College Nursing Simulation program is endorsed (and then eventually re-endorsed in 2025) through the year 2030 by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), demonstrating our continued commitment to ensuring a strong simulation-based educational experience for our students.

2026: Continuing the Labouré Legacy

Labouré College of Healthcare and Curry College reached an agreement to transition Labouré’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and other programs to Curry’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences and establish the Labouré Center for Advancing Healthcare Opportunity at Curry College.

Curry College Launches Associate of Science in Nursing Program

 Building on its legacy of educating Massachusetts’ top nurses for 50 years, the Curry College School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) is proud to announce the launch of the Associate of Science in Nursing Program. The College will now welcome students looking to pursue their Associate of Science in Nursing degree via ASN and LPN-RN pathways beginning in the fall of 2026.
