Dr. Burnett joined Curry College in 2016. Prior to coming to Curry, Dr. Burnett worked as a Registered Nurse and Nurse-In-Charge at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the intermediate care adult medical unit. Her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) comes from Northeastern University where she explored the Impact of Art on Interprofessional Healthcare Team Collaboration and Communication.

Dr. Burnett teaches in the traditional undergraduate and accelerated programs, as well as the AE-MSN program. Courses include: Preparation for Health Care Professions (BSN), Conceptual Basis for Nursing Practice (BSN), Pharmacology (BSN and ACCEL), and The Art and Science of Nursing (AE-MSN). Additionally she serves as a clinical instructor for Clinical Nursing Care of Adults I for the accelerated program.

Dr. Burnett has spent time volunteering with Cross Cultural Solutions in Lima, Peru, Operation Smile in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, and Global Vision International (GVI) in Dawasamu district, Fiji.
