Sarah Hannigan is an Assistant Professor of Education at Curry College. A certified speech-language pathologist with extensive experience across public schools, specialized schools, special education collaboratives, and private practice settings, she has dedicated her career to supporting students with autism and other learning differences. Her research focuses on the K-12 educational experiences, supports, and special education practices that shape student trajectories and long-term success. Her work seeks to identify the factors that help students build the academic, social, communication, and self-advocacy skills needed to thrive in school and beyond. Her teaching and scholarship emphasize special education, inclusive practices, and evidence-based supports that promote access, achievement, and belonging for diverse learners. She previously served as the inaugural Director of the Social Achievement in Learning (SAIL) program at Curry College, where she helped develop innovative supports for neurodiverse college students.
