Q: What is happening?
A: Curry College and Labouré College of Healthcare have reached an agreement to transfer Labouré’s nursing programs to Curry College and to establish the Labouré Center for Advancing Healthcare Opportunity at Curry College. Labouré’s Associate of Science in Nursing Program will be offered at Curry, and Labouré’s RN-to-BSN students will have the opportunity to transfer credits into Curry’s RN to Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Program. Pending regulatory approvals, Labouré will cease academic operations on 8/31/2026.
Q: What will happen to Labouré College of Healthcare?
A: After the transition of the nursing programs to Curry, Labouré will cease academic operations. Curry is committed to continue to maintain the nursing programs and to serve its students. To honor the legacy of Labouré College of Healthcare, Curry will establish the Labouré Center for Advancing Healthcare Opportunity at Curry College. Curry is establishing the Labouré Center for Advancing Healthcare Opportunity to continue to provide the robust level of resources and supports Labouré has provided to its diverse student population of adults, English language learners, and current healthcare workers to further their success consistent with Labouré’s mission

A: Yes. The Labouré College of Healthcare campus in Milton will close, and the nursing programs will be located at Curry College’s Milton campus as part of Curry’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences

A: Labouré and Curry are currently working on the transition process, with the goal of moving the two programs to Curry for Fall 2026, subject to receiving certain regulatory and accreditor approvals. We will provide additional timeline details as we get more information.

Q: What impact will this have on Labouré nursing faculty?
A: Labouré ASN faculty members will be extended invitations to serve on the faculty of the Curry College School of Nursing and Health Sciences. By joining Curry, these faculty members become part of a liberal arts institution that offers robust professional and pre-professional programs. They will also become members of the Curry College Chapter of the American Association of University Professors and will receive benefits outlined in the collective bargaining agreement with the College.
Q: Will there be a new faculty orientation?
A: Yes, Academic Affairs will organize a new hire orientation for faculty during the first week following their commencement at Curry.
Q: What impact will this have on Labouré staff?
A: Some Labouré staff members will join the Curry community, enhancing our capacity to provide services to students across various departments, and in the new Labouré Center at Curry. These positions will be incorporated into Curry's existing organizational structures.
Q: Will there be an orientation for staff joining Curry?
A: Yes, a series of informational sessions, along with a formal new hire orientation, will be provided for incoming staff.
Q: What impact will this have on Curry nursing faculty?
A: The School of Nursing and Health Sciences will expand to include transitioning Labouré Faculty, with additional lines to be added as program growth occurs. These additions make the nursing faculty the largest academic department at Curry.
Q: What impact will this have on Curry staff?
A: Curry staff will welcome new colleagues who will be integrated into various departments. Human Resources, together with other departments such as the Office of DEIB, will offer support to facilitate a seamless integration process.
Q: How will the Labouré programs, students, faculty, and staff be accommodated on our campus?
A: The Kennedy Building will be home to all of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences programming. The addition of new classrooms, labs, simulation spaces, and debriefing rooms will provide ample space to accommodate the additional students and faculty associated with the Labouré ASN programs. Additionally, the Cottage will house the Labouré Center for Advancing Healthcare Opportunity, and the White House will house additional faculty offices. Some academic programs and faculty currently in the Kennedy Building will be relocated to facilities such as Hafer, North Hall, and the Levin Library.
Q: How will we prepare the Curry community to integrate successfully with the Labouré community?
A: Labouré and Curry will be collaborating over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and will implement a thorough approach to cultural integration. We have engaged the Institute for Intercultural Diplomacy as an external consultant to help unite our new Labouré students and colleagues, foster a collective culture, and ensure that the distinct qualities of both Labouré and Curry are respected and celebrated. A: Labouré nurses and healthcare professionals have a stellar reputation built over a century. You hold the credentials made possible by your Labouré education and will remain in high demand in the healthcare field.
Q: Will transcripts still be available? From which institution?
A: Curry College will become the institution of record for all Labouré student records. As such, students and alumni should contact the Curry College Office of the Registrar regarding copies of diplomas, transcripts, or any other academic records needed after the transition to Curry.
Q: Can Labouré alumni access Curry Career services and support?
A: Yes. Services at Curry’s Career & Experiential Learning office will be available to Labouré alumni
Q: What is happening to the Labouré name and traditions?
A: The Labouré name is being preserved through Curry’s establishment of the Labouré Center for Advancing Healthcare Opportunity at Curry. Curry plans to preserve as many of the traditions as possible, while also giving students the opportunity to be included in the Curry community and all the benefits and traditions of Curry.
Q: What is going to happen to the Labouré College campus?
A: After Labouré’s students transfer to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Curry, the Labouré campus will be sold, and the proceeds will be used to support the nursing programs transitioned to Curry and the Labouré Center at Curry.
Q: Will existing Labouré clinical partnerships continue?
A: Curry and Labouré already overlap at many clinical sites. Any additional Labouré relationships will be reviewed with the goal of continuing those partnerships with Curry.
