Learn. Grow. Lead.

Curry College students perform community service

Community service is a great way for students to learn and grow by actively participating in organized service experiences that successfully meet the needs of the greater community. Participating in community service provides students with opportunities through which they can reach out to the surrounding area and work to fight for social causes.

There are several reasons why students should consider taking part in community service. These include improving their leadership skills, seeing the impact their work has on their community, learning about themselves and building their resumes.

Alternative Break Service Trips

Each year, Curry students travel to different locations to spend their Winter and/or Spring Break participating in Habitat for Humanity and Give Kids the World.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity trips provide students with a wonderful opportunity to improve their leadership skills; to affect a global cause by advocating on behalf of poverty housing issues and to help provide a simple, decent, affordable place to live for people in need. Past trips have been to New York, Delaware, New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Students have also participate in local builds on weekends throughout their regular semesters.

Give Kids the World

Give Kids the World is a theme park in Florida which provides terminally ill children a Disney-like experience free of charge and relies on volunteers to operate.
