The Health Careers Living Learning Community (LLC) is designed to engage students in exploring various aspects of the healthcare professions, particularly Nursing, Community Health and Public Health. Students will have opportunities to explore health-related career options as well as the major challenges and issues facing patients, providers, and communities, while examining the roles and responsibilities of different public health and healthcare professionals.
Students in this community will take their required First Year Inquiry course studying "famous" individuals as part of "The Lives of the Great and Not So Famous" who have impacted health and medical care in the 20th and 21 st centuries and take the health pre-requisite courses ( Anatomy & Physiology and Chemical Concepts ) together.
Academic Course Load: 8 credits during fall semester, 8 credits during spring semester
Size: 20 students
Location: North Campus Residence Hall (NCRH)
Roommate Policy: Roommate needs to be a participant in one of the four LLC programs housed in NCRH (please see housing note on the main First Year Living Learning Communities page)
Restrictions: Open to students interested in health-related majors
