Graduates of the Sports Communication program—as well as students majoring in Media and Communication Arts, Public Relations, or any other discipline with a minor in Sports Communication—gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed across a wide range of professional settings. Career paths span both traditional and cutting‑edge media, including sports writing, reporting, and blogging; sports radio and television broadcasting and live streaming; sports social media and digital content creation; sports promotion and sales; sports photojournalism; and much more.

The Game They Loved: Tyler Milliken's Story of Family, Baseball, and Belonging

Tyler Milliken ’20 grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts, where his family’s love for the Boston Red Sox was an important part of everyday life. Watching games with his dad after school became a cherished tradition, one that deepened his connection to his family and the sport. Tyler knew he wouldn’t play baseball at the collegiate level, but that didn’t diminish his passion for the game. Instead, he began exploring ways to turn that passion into a career—one that would lean into his love for the Red Sox and make his dad proud.
