Chief Patrick FoleyPatrick Foley serves as the Director and Chief of Public Safety and has been with Curry College since January of 2025. Prior to Curry College, Chief Foley served as the Deputy Chief of Police at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Chief Foley has a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Leadership and Administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Police Administration and Operations from Southern New Hampshire University. Chief Foley is an esteemed FBI LEEDA Trilogy recipient having completed their extensive three-part series for modern-day police leaders. Chief Foley also holds various certifications in topics such as Sexual Assault Investigations, Crisis Intervention, Peer Support and CISM, Mental Health First Aid, and Emotional Intelligence for Police Leaders. Chief Foley is a sworn member of the department, POST Certified, and completed the MPTC Police Academy.

Chief Foley resides on Cape Cod with his wife and two children and their dog and enjoys summer days spent on the beach and winters skiing in the mountains. His favorite part about working at Curry is how well everyone works together and the overall consensus that everyone wants the best for everyone; the positivity is unmatched.

Chief Foley believes that the Department is truly here to serve the Curry Community and encourages feedback, suggestions, and providing an opportunity for community members to have a say in how their safety services are delivered. Chief Foley has started a Safety & Security Committee here on campus and regularly meets with a variety of campus partners to discuss different safety and security topics.

“My message to the Curry Community is this, for students, you are here for four years, and I want you to enjoy your experience to the fullest. It is our duty to ensure that you can always do so in a safe and secure manner. To the staff and faculty, I want to foster a community where safety is everyone’s responsibility, and it is truly a collaborative approach.”
