Academic ExcellenceAll weather-related closures will be posted on the College's website and social media channels and sent via text, voicemail, and/or email through our RAVE Alert System.
All Curry College students, faculty, and staff are automatically added to the RAVE notification system which will be utilized in the event of an active incident on campus.
The Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act establishes two kinds of notifications that institutions of higher education must send to their communities: Timely Warning and Emergency Notification.
A Timely Warning will be issued “When Clery crimes reported to a campus security authority or local law enforcement pose a serious or ongoing threat to the campus community” and this threat has or is occurring within the defined Clery geography.
Clery reportable crimes include murder, negligent manslaughter, aggravated assault, arson, burglary, robbery, motor vehicle theft, rape, fondling, incest, statutory rape, liquor law violations, weapon possession, drug abuse violations, hate crimes, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and hazing.
A Timely Warning notification will be sent via RAVE and to all Curry College emails.
An Emergency Notification will be issued “When there is confirmation of an immediate threat to the health and safety of the campus community” and this threat has or is occurring strictly on the Curry College campus.
This kind of notification is broader and applies to more than just Clery reportable crimes.
An Emergency Notification will be sent via RAVE and to all Curry College emails.
During active incidents the use of an emergency siren may be utilized to alert individuals to an ongoing emergency and or to provide specific instructions. These sirens are tested on an annual basis.
